He parked his unmarked car in the customary spot behind the guardhouse. The sun was coming up as he opened the trunk and stretched. He removed his extra SWAT gear and stowed it in the trunk.
He looked around to make sure no one was watching. When he didn't see anyone, he undid his body armor and placed it in the trunk. He stripped off the tee shirt that was underneath. He stretched again. The sunlight felt good on his sore muscles. He lingered for a moment shirtless, not caring about violating the department's uniform policy.
He grabbed a fresh shirt from the trunk and slipped it on. After closing the trunk, he trudged into his mind numbing day in the guard house.
